About us:

The Old Royal Naval College (ORNC) is located with the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site and is one of Britain’s most visited attractions. The Painted Hall, regarded as Europe’s finest dining hall, the neoclassical Chapel and visitor centre all provide unique opportunities for exploration, learning and participation.

The ORNC is currently working with the HLF on a major project of conservation in the Painted Hall, and on improved visitor routes, activities and interpretation. The Painted Hall will remain open to visitors throughout the conservation process, therefore, the successful candidate will hold significant responsibility for ensuring excellent visitor experiences in unique circumstances.

At the heart of our work in the Public Engagement department is our vision to deliver a constantly accessible, engaging and fun experience for all our visitors. Over the next two years, our work will focus on better understanding our visitors, how we can deliver exceptional experiences for our target audiences and continuing our commitment to presenting our magnificent buildings and their artwork to the very highest of standards.

About you:

In your previous work experience you have already proven that you are a diplomatic and competent supervisor who has a clear understanding of how to get the best from your team. You consistently encourage those around you, inspire great results and celebrate achievements.

You have a passion for inclusive and accessible visitor experiences and you understand and demonstrate how the work and behaviours of the visitor experience team can break down barriers to participation.

You are motivated by engaging with others and continually look for opportunities to develop yourself and others within your team. A natural communicator, your team members feel informed, involved and able to approach you when they need to.
