Job Description:
South East Museum Development has been awarded £2 million from Arts Council England as a Sector Support Organisation for 2018-2022. During this period, we will deliver development initiatives to drive excellence and create a resilient and sustainable museum sector in the South East.

Museum Development realises its vision for thriving museums by being a challenging, approachable and ambitious agent of change. Working in partnership with other providers, we raise standards across collections care, audience engagement, organisational development, diversity and learning in museums.

The South East Museum Development Programme is managed by a consortium of museums, consisting of Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton and Hove (the lead partner), Hampshire Cultural Trust, Oxfordshire County Museums Service and Chatham Historic Dockyard.

This role is responsible for capturing, collating and analysing financial and performance data to demonstrate the impact of the programme, and using this data for quarterly reporting to Arts Council England. The role is also responsible for financial monitoring of the programme, and financial management of the grants programme. The post holder also supports the Programme Manager, and contributes to the central management function of the programme. You will be a point of contact for museums across the South East region for general programme enquiries, and for the team of Museum Development Officers. You will also work with the Programme Manager to support work with other national and regional sector bodies.
Required Skills:
To excel in this role, you will be someone who can build effective and positive relationships, be personally resilient and able to meet change positively, while continually looking to opportunities for improvements and efficiencies. You will need to have an eye for detail, and be confident with data analysis and financial management. You also need to be someone who positively collaborates with others, but who can equally manage your own time and be able to work independently to ensure timely delivery.
