|Visitor Experience Supervisor x2 (Annualised hours contract)
1430 hours per annum
Annual Salary: £16,900
The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two public sister sites at London and Cosford and a stored collection site near Stafford. RAF Museum Enterprises Ltd is the trading arm of the RAF Museum with all profits gift-aided to the Museum to support its charitable activities. Our purpose is to share the story of the Royal Air Force through its people and collections, to engage, inform and inspire our visitors. Our overall vision is to reach, connect and inspire everyone with the RAF story.
The Museum is looking to expand its visitor offer and develop new ways of telling the story of the RAF first 100 years. We are looking for a pro-active and customer-focused individual to be part of this exciting change.
The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience, preferably in a Museum or Visitor attraction capacity. You should be confident in managing a diverse team in a changing environment where you are looked upon for direction and providing motivation.
You will need to be a confident communicator and be able to respond quickly and positively in a changing environment. Being flexible in your outlook is essential as you will be fulfilling a variety of roles at the Museum.
You will be part of a small team of supervisors who manage the Visitor Experience Team and support day to day operations of the whole site.
You will also support the Museum in hosting evening events from corporate dinners to sleepovers, festivals and outdoor film nights. An understanding of the importance of supporting and fulfilling a ‘host’ role for corporate clients and Museum partners is desirable.
In addition to the above, we are looking for an individual who can build positive relationships with other teams within the Museum and with Museum partners. The post will be based at our Cosford site. This is a part-time position, with regular weekend working. There will be a requirement to work evenings, early mornings and overnights as part of this role, so flexibility is essential.
