Job Description:
Watts Gallery Trust is seeking to appoint a Development Assistant who is passionate about a career in fundraising. The Development Assistant will have a key role within the fundraising team and will contribute to Watts Gallery Trust meeting its fundraising targets. Working with the Head of Development, you will achieve this by co-ordinating the Adopt a Watts Scheme and donor events, and providing excellent customer service to prospective and existing donors. You will:
• want to work in the development sector
• work well and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a wide range of people
• be well organised and methodical with a high level of attention to detail
• have good IT and time management skills
• be willing to learn and work as part of a team to achieve the team’s goals

• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Methodical with a high level of attention to detail
• Competent IT user
• Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team
• Some experience of fundraising

Knowledge & Qualifications:
• Institute of Fundraising Certificate in Fundraising or similar relevant fundraising qualification desirable
• Knowledge of fundraising in the arts and/or charity sector.

• Ability to communicate Watts Gallery Trust’s case for support to prospective and current supporters via the telephone, and in face-to-face and written communication
• Friendly and approachable with excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people at all levels

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Work flexibly and can adjust plans to meet changing and conflicting demands
