Description: |
This post will make archaeological documentary archives from projects funded by Historic Scotland (physical and digital) accessible online and will achieve this through appraisal and cataloguing.
The postholder will also assist with preventive conservation and repackaging of the physical material and contribute to proposals to improve the dissemination of archives online.

| Required Skills: |
Essential
The postholder will be expected to have
• A degree or equivalent experience in archaeology, history, archival studies or related subjects
• A knowledge of Scottish archaeology
• Skills, or the willingness to develop skills, in archive curation and cataloguing
• A methodical working approach and an attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Good ICT skills
• Drive and initiative, sound judgement combined with organisational skills
Desirable
• Full UK driving licence
• Knowledge in the use of the RCAHMS database and data standards
• Knowledge of the RCAHMS collections and cataloguing procedures |
