Job Ref No:
Job Description:
Media Archivist grade F 1FTE

Plymouth City Council is embarking on a £32 million capital redevelopment project that will transform its museum and art gallery into a major cultural destination for Plymouth and the Southwest peninsula.  And we are looking for the right candidates to join us on this journey.

In particular we are looking for a media archivist who will drive the digitization and collections management programmes for at-risk film and photographic collections of the project. The media archivist will also work with key local, regional and national partners to embed the content of the media collections throughout the new galleries. You will have a good knowledge and experience of working with historic collections in a heritage environment, and be proficient with both manual and digital collections management databases, ideally with CALM and Adlib. You will also be a real champion for improving access and engagement with collections generally and media collections specifically.
