Job Description:
The Rural Life Centre wishes to offer an exciting opportunity for the right applicant to become a key mover in the next phase of the museum's development.
Our collection of over 40,000 artifacts gives visitors a feel of rural and village life from the 18th century through to the mid twentieth century. We plan to greatly expand our offering to draw in greater numbers of visitors and to do so we must update our facilities and visitor
experience. We're already planning our new centre with offices, education spaces, archive and visitor facilities to attract and satisfy new visitors.
We need a dynamic and experienced member of staff with relevant fundraising and marketing skills to secure the funding needed to take the museum forward into this new and exciting phase of it's life.
Do you have experience of securing funding from HLF, local and national grant making bodies and corporate donors?
Could you lead in the securing of multi-million pound funding to springboard our museum into the next fifty years?

Required Skills:
Essential - Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience in a relevant subject
Desirable – Have a post-graduate degree in a relevant subject.

Essential - Experience of working in a charity
Essential - Experience of working in the museum or heritage sector
Essential - Knowledge and implementation of fundraising strategies.
Essential – Demonstrable track record of fundraising
Essential – Knowledge and implementation of marketing strategies
Essential - Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders
Desirable - Experience of financial planning
Desirable - Experience of managing and developing budgets
Desirable - Experience in working with volunteers as well as other paid staff

Essential - Strong written and verbal communication skills
Essential - Strong organisational skills
Essential – Ability to manage and prioritise a varied work load
Essential - Ability to build relationships with a range of people
Essential – Strong IT skills
Desirable - Can take a practical and resourceful approach to projects
Desirable - Strong influencing and negotiating skills
