Job Description:
Eureka! The National Children’s Museum is embarking on an exciting phase of development and is looking for an exceptional candidate to help us achieve our ambitious volunteering plans. We’re looking for a proactive professional with a proven track record, big smiles and big ideas!
This is a particularly exciting time for Eureka! with a number of new projects in progress for 2017, including the celebration of our 25th Anniversary, new exhibition developments and innovative STEM and arts focused programmes.
Reporting to the Visitor Experience Director, Eureka! is seeking an experienced, creative and enthusiastic Volunteer Manager to join its busy Visitor Experience department.
Leading on the development and management of Eureka!’s new volunteering aspirations, you will be a creative individual and a highly motivated self-starter with a passion for attracting, engaging and inspiring a diverse team of volunteers.
Required Skills:
• a proven track record of successfully creating and integrating a volunteer programme
• experience of working in a visitor attraction, museum, or 3rd sector organisation
• strong project management skills, including analysis and reporting
• excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners, volunteers and other stakeholders
• strong people management, administration, co-ordination, communication and teamwork skills
• excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities with a can do approach
• the ability to influence, engender confidence and be an excellent ambassador
