Job Description:
The Royal Air Force (RAF) Museum is Britain’s national museum telling the story of the RAF through its people and collections. It has three sites (Hendon, Cosford and Stafford) and a trading company which supplements its funding which comes principally from the Ministry of Defence.

The Museum would like to invite applications for the post of Access and Learning Officer in the Access and Learning (A&L) Department of the Hendon site of the RAF Museum.

The postholder will work as part of the Museums’ RAF Centenary Programme team, representing the A&L Department with a particular focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) programming. They will continue with the STEM remit once the Centenary Programme has been completed.

Applicants should hold a degree-level qualification and have experience of working with children. An interest in history, STEM and other curriculum areas relevant to our collection and an enthusiastic and flexible approach is essential. In addition to delivering workshops for schools in a lively and imaginative way, the post holder will support the wider work of the department, developing new activities and resources, and enabling a wide range of learners to access and enjoy a variety of activities, events and experiences.

There is a requirement to work occasional weekends, bank holidays and evenings as necessary. The post is based at the London site but work at all Museum sites (London, Cosford and Stafford) and at outreach venues may be required.
