The Royal Air Force (RAF) Museum is Britain’s national museum telling the story of the RAF through its people and collections. It has three sites (Hendon, Cosford and Stafford) and a trading company which supplements its funding which comes principally from the Ministry of Defence.
Required Skills:
The Museum would like to invite applications for the post of Access and Learning Assistant in the Access and Learning (A&L) Department of the Hendon site of the RAF Museum. The postholder will deliver daily programmed activities, mainly for schools although there will also be opportunities to work with families and other Museum audiences.

Applicants should hold a degree-level qualification and have experience of working with children. An interest in history, STEM and other curriculum areas relevant to our collection and an enthusiastic and flexible approach is essential. In addition to delivering workshops for schools in a lively and imaginative way, the post holder will support the wider work of the department, and will show a commitment to keeping up to date with the National Curriculum and Learning provision in other museums. The postholder will also assist colleagues in exploiting the potential of online learning.

Daily duty from Monday to Friday is scheduled each morning from 09.30 until 13:10 (20 hours per week). There is a requirement to work occasional weekends, bank holidays and evenings as and when necessary. The post is based at the London site but work at outreach venues (usually schools) may be required.
