About the Youth Travel Ambassadors programme
Youth Travel Ambassadors (YTA) is a youth-led programme for Secondary schools in London. Young people aged 11-19 are given the opportunity to make a difference to transport issues affecting their school communities. With the support of school staff, borough officers and specialist TfL staff, YTA teams research, develop and deliver bespoke campaigns focused on Road Safety, Active Travel and improving the Passenger experience. Based at the London Transport Museum, alongside Safety & Citizenship, YTA involves young people in innovative projects to improve their own well-being, the surrounding environment, and the local community.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at London Transport Museum for a Youth Travel Ambassador Coordinator. The Youth Travel Ambassador Coordinator will be a highly motivated practitioner who will assist the Youth Travel Ambassador Team Leader to deliver high quality teaching and training sessions in Secondary schools as part of the Youth Travel Ambassador programme.

• An understanding of Operational issues of TfL Travel modes.
• Knowledge of Behaviour Change techniques including Road Safety Education and Active Travel campaigns.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
• An understanding of the role of education in developing the life skills of Young people.
(Desirable) An interest in the development of London’s Transport system, past, present and future.

• Teaching and facilitation in formal and informal environments
• Passionate about youth led work
• Experience in supervising or managing others, in developing learning resources and of organising school and community events
• Practical use of Information technology in the education sector
