Job Description:
We are looking for a social and creative individual who enjoys engaging with a broad range of people.

You will be the vital connection between our visitors, buildings, collections, exhibition spaces, retail experience, members and friends, with up to date knowledge of YMT’s latest events and news, including what’s happening in and around York.
You will also assist with the security of the buildings, grounds, collections, staff and equipment. You will be required to cover all aspects of the operation, including admission, retail and guiding, leading general and bespoke tours of the collections or exhibitions and engaging with our online visitors via social media platforms such as Twitter, Flickr, blogging and Facebook.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering excellent customer service to a variety of visitors, communicating with a diverse range of people in a friendly, effective and helpful manner, and the ability to consider the needs of all visitors. In addition, experience of using retail and/or admissions equipment (eg tills) and some knowledge of health, safety and security procedures within a historic building are essential for this post.
