Job Description:
Site Manager
7 month contract with potential to extend

As one of two Site Managers, assist the Operations Manager in ensuring the delivery of an exemplary visitor experience at Stonehenge. Ensure that all commercial targets are met and manage and motivate a large team of Operations Supervisors and Historic Property Stewards.

* To ensure, through the day-to-day management of the Operations team, and use of standard operating procedures that acceptable levels of compliance are met across a number of areas (H&S, security, equality, financial assurance etc.)
* To ensure that a keen commercial focus is maintained and KPIs achieved, whilst also delivering exemplary standards of customer service and presentation across the site, in partnership with colleagues in other departments.
* Produce an effective and efficient roster for the Operations Team, ensuring correct levels of staffing at all times.
* To be responsible for the line management of Operations Supervisors, ensuring that they receive a programme of ongoing coaching, mentoring and monitoring to ensure their continued development, that the 'Duty Supervisor' role is carried out to the highest standards.
* Ensure that all recruitment, induction, and ongoing management and development of the Historic Property Stewards is carried out efficiently and following English Heritage HR processes.
* Work closely with training providers, key partner organisations and internal experts to deliver training.
* To ensure the effectiveness of the Duty Management system and to personally be part of the arrangements for providing emergency out of hours management cover.
* To take direct responsibility for the development and delivery of earned income and relevant expenditure budgets at Stonehenge, as delegated by the Head of Operations and Operations Manager.
* To control expenditure and ensure compliance with all English Heritage finance and procurement procedures.
* To assist the Operations Manager in overseeing the management of third party contracts on site e.g. manned security and audioguide provision
* To ensure the effective security, presentation and interpretation of the loaned collections, in liaison with the Curatorial team, and be responsible for the operation of all temporary exhibitions on site, in liaison with the Interpretation Officer.
* To undertake any other tasks and duties as reasonably requested by the Operations
Manager, Head of Operations or General Manager, Stonehenge.
