Job Description:
Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust (MBHT) was established in 2004 as a registered charity in North West Glasgow to save the Victorian Burgh Halls from demolition and bring the Halls back into community use. MBHT raised over £9mn to regenerate the building and it reopened in 2012 as an event venue for private hire, office space to let and local heritage site. Heritage has been at the heart of the Trust's aims and activities from the beginning of the Burgh Halls' regeneration project and community heritage projects have been carried out by staff, volunteers and in partnership with community groups. This is an exciting time to join MBHT as we embark on innovative ways to achieve long term self-sustainability.

Purpose of Post:

The purpose of the Retail and Development Officer is to develop and integrate a fundraising strategy into the Trust's business plan. The post-holder will research and identify new sources of income generation in particular through retail and funding development. The fundraising strategy will support the long term sustainability of the Burgh Halls Trust whilst enhancing visitor, client and donator experiences and engagement with the Trust.

The key elements of the role are:

• To research, devise, implement and evaluate a fundraising strategy suitable for the Burgh Halls Trust as an independent charity.
• Develop and implement a retail strategy for the Burgh Halls Trust.
• To promote Maryhill Burghs Trust to a wider audience and foster excellent working relationships with funding and project partners.
• Play a crucial role in developing the long-term sustainability and resilience of the Burgh Halls Trust.
