Job Description:
Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first World Expo to take place in the Middle East, Africa or South Asia. Serving an area with a collective population of nearly 3 billion people, this will be the first Expo to be close to home for many who have had no previous access, making an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of an entire region. Expo 2020 Dubai is aiming to attract 25 million visitors and it is estimated that 70 per cent will be international visitors to Dubai to attend the expo. This is unprecedented and the first World Expo to welcome a majority of its visitors from beyond its own nation’s borders.

The Sustainability & Mobility Pavilions are part of the wider Legacy program at Expo 2020, and are being designed as ambitious and innovative destinations for visitors of the event. They will explore two of the core themes of Expo 2020; mobility and sustainability. World-class exhibitions, experiences and encounters with staff and volunteers will engage and amaze visitors. Both pavilions will be amongst the most popular destinations for the 25 million visitors to Expo 2020. They contain a diversity of experiences including exhibitions, events, retail and catering the success of which will depend upon the highest quality of visitor services.

The Senior Manager will develop visitor services and event operations for the two pavilions in coordination with leading staff on the pavilions and those from Expo 2020 in related departments.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

- Ensure the pavilions develop and deliver outstanding operational practice leading to the highest possible standard of visitor experience;

- Oversee the development and delivery of visitor services for the Sustainability and Mobility Pavilions

- Collaborate closely with the Expo 2020 Event Operations department to ensure that pavilion visitor service provision is coordinated with Expo-wide operations;

- Take the lead as client for contracted visitor services and event operations, ensuring that negotiated contracts are suitable for pavilion operation;

- Take a lead for the pavilions in planning for, and delivery of readiness testing activities;

- Ensure the completion of pavilion operating procedures covering all areas of event operations;

- Alongside pavilion leads, take the role of site manager for the pavilions during the event;

- Work with the visitor services and event operations requirements to enable the transition of the Sustainability Pavilion into it’s post-event form as a Science Centre.
Required Skills:
8+ years relevant experience as well as:

- Extensive experience in managing visitor services and event operations within a large event or visitor attraction

- Experience in managing contracted services relating to visitor services for example facilities maintenance, security etc.;

- Substantial experience in staff management and leading high performing teams;

- Proven ability to work effectively within a large multi-disciplinary organization;

- Detailed understanding of all aspects of visitor services within a large visitor attraction including customer services, workforce management, safety and security, ticketing and experience maintenance.
