If so, then the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago is looking for you!

We have an opening for a full-time Director of Visitor Experience who will enhance the MCA experience for all visitors at every touch point, ensuring that their first and last impressions are positive and exceed expectations while maintaining a commitment to excellent customer service in all areas of the museum. To be successful in this role, you must:
• Develop the museum’s strategic service and operations plan and oversee its ongoing implementation, including recommendations for institutional standards, staffing, structure and skills necessary to effectively serve visitors, and continually improve the overall visitor experience.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative data research about our visitors and provide recommendations to improve the visitor experience, focus marketing efforts, maximize attendance and revenues, and provide our audiences with the best programming, experiences and activities possible.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure that, where appropriate, our visitor’s direct interaction with artworks in the museum are staffed, managed and communicated to the public effectively and safely.
• Set, monitor, and maintain visitor service standards for the museum; maintain sales and visitor experience training for front-line staff; and collaborate with security, store, and restaurant staff on best practices in visitor experience and services matters.
Required Skills:
Desired qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, at least 8-10 years management and visitor/customer service experience, and:
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
• Strong conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with event management, point of sale systems and cash handling.
• Experience with ticketing systems is highly desirable.

This is a full time position, some extended hours required for Store and special events. General mobility throughout museum is required. Local, regional, and international travel required.
