Job Description:
Are you an experienced Art Handling Technician who is looking to expand and develop yourself and others?

If so, we are currently recruiting for a permanent Principal Art Handling Technician.

In this exciting role you will play a vital role in overseeing and providing specialist Art Handling technical services. You will lead in setting and delivering quality standards to all Tate’s programmes, across Tate sites, nationally and internationally as well as play a leading role in researching and delivering new and emerging technologies in the field of Art Handling.

You will spend your days developing and training a team of enthusiastic and motivated technicians to deliver Tate’s exciting programme of acquisitions, displays and loans, worldwide.
Required Skills:
To thrive in this varied and fascinating role, you will have significant professional experience in the specialism of Art Handling and have extensive knowledge and expertise in the movement, storage and installation of art or heritage objects.

Your excellent communication skills and expert knowledge combine with an understanding of current Health and Safety legislation, Risk Assessments and Method Statements, with proven experience of implementation.

You will be responsible for ensuring that quality and expertise is delivered and maintained across all activity, providing specialist technical advice and support to all colleagues in the Collection Management team and across Collection Care and Tate.
