The Royal Air Force Museum is Britain’s National Museum that tells the story of the RAF through its people and collections. It has three sites (London, Cosford and Stafford) and a trading company which supplements its funding which comes principally from the Ministry of Defence.

The Curator (Fine Art and Medals) will join the Museum at an exciting time during the RAF’s Centenary year. The post-holder will be a member of the Curatorial team undertaking a range of activities to research and enable access to the Museum’s collections.

They will assist in supporting the delivery of the Museum’s RAF Centenary Programme and legacy activities. There will be the opportunity to undertake research to contribute to the Museum’s Research Programme.

Educated to degree level (or equivalent level of knowledge gained through employment) and experience of working in a museum or heritage organisation are essential requirements. The ability to work within a team plus subject knowledge and an understanding of curatorial responsibilities are also important.

The post will be based in Colindale, NW London. Travel between the Museum’s sites and other venues in the UK and abroad may be required from time to time. There is a requirement to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
