What it's like to work here
Trelissick has one of the most amazing natural settings in the country. Situated on our own peninsula, we enjoy stunning, ever-changing views of the Fal estuary. This location is famous as a Cornish estate with 30 acres of garden, historic parkland and woodland with its miles of creek side and woodland walks. We’ve been open to visitors since the 1950’s when Trelissick was gifted to the National Trust, but since 2013 we’ve seen some big changes, one of the biggest was Trelissick House coming into our day-to-day stewardship and opening it regularly to visitors. It is a great time to join the team and work together to deliver our big ambitions.

We are on a journey to define what stories we want to tell and how our visitors will enjoy not just Trelissick House, but the whole property in years to come. You will be working with the Visitor Experience team and our Curator to produce interpretation and exhibitions within the house that will tell these stories in creative ways.

Our volunteers are particularly important to us and are key to delivering fantastic visitor experience as well as assisting with the conservation of our property. You will be the main link for our House volunteers and it’s important that you have experience and knowledge of how to work well with them.

You will make sure that our house and collections procedures and ways of working are in line with our Museum Accreditation status.
