Job Title:     Chief Executive
Organisation:     Dundee Heritage Trust
Type:     Full-Time Position
Location:     Dundee, Scotland
Closing Date:     Friday, November 23rd, 2018
Job Ref No:
Job Description:
These are exciting times for Dundee. The city is undergoing a radical transformation which has put it in the international spotlight like never before.

With £1billion being spent regenerating the Waterfront area, Dundee has been named “the coolest little city in Britain” and a must-visit European tourism destination.

Culture and tourism are key drivers of the new Dundee economy, and further exciting developments in these areas are likely as part of the forthcoming Tay Cities Deal.

An opportunity has arisen to be right at the heart of all this, as Chief Executive of the organisation behind two of the city’s two most prominent 5 star visitor attractions.

Dundee Heritage Trust, and its operating company Dundee Industrial Heritage Limited, are registered charities formed in 1985 to preserve and interpret Dundee's industrial past.

The jewels in its crown are Discovery Point, located in the heart of the Waterfront and home to the ship which took Scott and Shackleton on their first expedition to Antarctica, and Verdant Works, a world class visitor attraction which tells the story of Dundee’s industrial textile heritage.

The Trustees of Dundee Heritage Trust are looking for a dynamic individual to lead the organisation through this exciting period, maximising the opportunities that the coming years present.

The successful candidate will bring vision and creativity, experience in the sector, and the personality to lead and inspire the team.

Key responsibilities will include delivering on the five key strands of the Trust’s strategy for the coming years – fundraising and sponsorship, smart marketing, developing partnerships, enhancing the visitor experience and capital programme planning.

This is a challenging but exciting role which offers the right candidate a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on an award-winning organisation – and a city on the up.
