Job Description:

Seasonal Visitor Hosts - Various hours available
Fixed Term (FTA)
Kew Gardens, Richmond

Kew is the world’s leading botanic gardens, at the forefront of plant and fungal science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major visitor attraction.

We want a world where plants and fungi are understood, valued and conserved – because our lives depend on them.

We use the power of our science and the rich diversity of our gardens and collections to provide knowledge, inspiration and understanding of why plants and fungi matter to everyone.

The Visitor Hosting team provide the first welcome to our incredible Gardens. We need people who are customer-focused, comfortable working on a till system in a busy environment, working internally and externally managing queues and questions at several gates across the site always delivering exceptional service to our visitors.

Vacancies are a variety of contracted hours available from an average of 32 hours, 20 hours, or 16 hours per week. There are also a number of vacant seasonal zero hour contracts available.

The hours of work will vary, and you will need to be available at weekends and bank holidays with an expectation to work fifty percent of all bank holidays and at least three weekends over a six-week shift pattern.

Successful candidates will have experience working with the public in a very busy leisure or retail environment, cash handling and the use of IT systems including till or ticketing systems. Additionally, you'll need to have a flexible approach to rosters as you'll be working in line with the gardens opening times: from 8am to 9pm in summer months.

Salary will be £18,589 per annum, pro rata depending on hours worked. We offer a fantastic range of benefits including a broad range of Learning and Development opportunities, with access to the Civil Service training curriculum, generous annual leave entitlement for new starters, family friendly policies, a choice of competitive pensions and flexible benefits scheme.
