Job Description:
The Mercers’ Company is a City Livery Company with a 700 year history. The Company’s core purpose is Philanthropy and funds its activities from its investments, mainly property in London’s West End and the City. The Company is also a trustee of a number of Charities.

The Company is looking to recruit an Archive Manager to manage a small team to deliver high standards in documentation, display and preservation of the Company’s historic and modern records and collection items. The Archive Manager will also have responsibility for the project management of the proposal to build a new Archive, this will include managing a temporary off-site move whilst the new build is in progress.
Required Skills:
The successful candidate will have:

• Substantial experience in managing archives and collections and a post graduate qualification in a related discipline
• Demonstrable experience of archive planning
• Previous experience in successfully planning and relocating an Archive or other heritage collection
• Demonstrable project management experience and / or PRINCE 2 qualification
• Previous experience of implementing and managing a digitisation programme
• Experience of managing and inspiring a small team
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and networking skills, able to interact and build relationships with a range of colleagues
• Have an interest in the history and life of the Company, its role in the City of London and passionate about Archives
