Job Description:
The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and conservation, and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world, The Courtauld Gallery. The Courtauld is currently undergoing a capital transformation project that will make The Courtauld’s world-class artworks, research and teaching accessible to more people – in the UK and internationally.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and pro-active Registrar of Exhibitions to oversee the planning and preparation of The Courtauld Gallery’s ambitious programme of future incoming loan exhibitions.

You will take up this post for a maternity cover period during an exciting time of transformation for The Courtauld, as we prepare for our re-opening in 2021. You will be responsible for all registrarial aspects of a number of high profile loan exhibitions that are currently in development. Working to the highest international museum standards, you will have excellent experience and skills as a Registrar across the full range of responsibilities, from art transportation logistics, installation planning and budget development, to loan documentation and insurance and indemnity processes.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with The Courtauld’s highly dedicated Gallery team on a number of major loan projects that will form part of a new chapter of The Courtauld’s acclaimed programme of exhibitions.
