Job Description: |
Director
The Buckinghamshire County Museum Trust
Salary Package: Competitive
Location: Aylesbury
The Buckinghamshire County Museum Trust is seeking to appoint its first Director to lead and manage the Bucks County Museum organisation as it becomes independent of Local Authority control from the beginning of December 2013. A fine example of a regional museum, with a collection of national significance, Bucks Museum and Art Gallery, which also includes the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery, has 130,000 items in its Collection, collected over a period of 150 years and attracts over 100,000 visitors a year with an income approaching £1m.
The new Director will have a crucial role to play in shaping the Bucks County Museum Trust for the next decade. Working with the Board and paying attention to the Trust’s key stakeholders, they will establish the vision and financial sustainability for the Trust going forward. Building on the success which the organisation currently enjoys, the new Director will ensure that the Trust is recognised as a model of best practice in creative regional museum management.
