Job Description:
Assistant House Steward
Salary: £14,505 per annum plus Outer London weighting allowance
Location: Osterley Park, Isleworth, Middlesex
Contract: Full time, fixed term contract to 31 December 2013
Reference: IRC8113

About the role
We’re bringing Osterley Park to life in all sorts of new and exciting ways. More pianos playing and kitchens cooking. Fewer ropes and don’t-touch signs. That’s because we want people to experience its incredible story and to really feel at home. And with a love of historic houses, you’ll help us to do just that.

Supporting a great team, you’ll make sure that the house and its content are beautifully cared for and presented. You’ll enjoy telling visitors about its fascinating history, sharing tales from the past as well as your personal experience of working there. So whether you’re supervising filming within the house or helping with the daily cleaning and care of our rooms, you’ll apply the same positive approach to the task in hand.

About you
Sharing our love of people and places, you’ll enjoy bringing the magic of Osterley Park to life for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Happy working as part of a team, you’ll have an exceptional eye for detail and will be able to spot even the smallest changes in presentation. You’ll also need to be comfortable working at heights.

We believe that people deserve more than just ‘good service’ but an amazing experience they’ll never forget. It’s about believing in what you do, sharing not telling, inspiring others to feel as passionate as you and creating lasting memories.

Incredibly rewarding
Do great things for us and we’ll do great things for you and your career. We’ll give you all the training, support and continued professional development you need, and we appreciate that work/life balance is important. You can also look forward to free admission to all our incredible places, and a helpful 20% off at our shops, cafes and restaurants. But they’re just the benefits we can tell you about here. There are lots more at www.nationaltrustrewardsandbenefits.org.uk

About us
We’re a charity founded in 1895 by three people who saw the importance of our nation’s heritage and open spaces and wanted to preserve them for everyone to enjoy. Over 100 years later these values are still at the heart of everything we do. We want people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy, be inspired by and love the places we look after as much as we do. We want everyone in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to feel like a member of the National Trust and, by 2020, we want to have grown our membership to more than five million.
