Marketing and Communications Manager

Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery in Carlisle is a regionally significant museum with world class collections. We believe that culture fundamentally enriches people’s lives and so we use our collections to tell stories, to question, engage people and to inspire learning for life.

We are looking to recruit to a key position that will accelerate our intention to enrich people’s lives and help make Carlisle and Cumbria a thriving place for everyone. We want an outstanding Marketing Manager who shares our values. We want a great communicator who is creative, can think differently and lead our strategy development. Tullie House attracts around 200,000 visitors each year, delivers award winning exhibitions and engagement programmes and leads the Cumbria Museum Consortium, which is an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation. The Museum is also about to commence a major multi-million pound capital development.

Salary Benefits
Full time, 37 hours per week, £25,013 to £29,578, dependent on skills and experience.
Required Skills:
OVERALL PURPOSE
• To manage the development and delivery of the Tullie House Marketing & Communications Strategy and work plan.
• To work across and with the organisation to develop compelling and creative stories to raise awareness of and draw footfall to the museum.
• To further promote the museum’s brand and sector-leading reputation locally, regionally, nationally and, where appropriate, internationally.
• To engage and develop new and current audiences, ensuring that messaging is relevant and accurate and making sure that all areas of the business are appropriately represented.
• Manage relationships and contracts with relevant partners such as funders, press, local cultural partners, freelance consultants, and other stakeholder relationships.
• Help promote our charitable messaging, champion digital development, manage client data, jointly lead the implementation of CRM system and be responsible for GDPR procedures.
