JOB TITLE: Trust & Statutory Fundraising Manager
£36,750 + £1,500 market rate allowance per annum
The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.
The Royal Armouries is at an exciting time in our history and this is a chance to play a key role in the successful delivery of our multi million pound masterplan. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative fundraising professional to deliver an ambitious trust and statutory fundraising strategy (capital and revenue).
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly, be highly organised and self-motivated with a proven ability to work to tight deadlines. They must be an effective and professional communicator, able to engage with stakeholders and build relationships at all levels across the organisation.
Hours: This position is a permanent contract, working full time, 36 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will occasionally be required, as will some travel.
The role will be predominantly Leeds office based with an option for some hybrid working as well as at the other RA sites. |

Purpose
To develop and implement a trust and statutory fundraising strategy for the Royal Armouries capital and revenue projects, ensuring that all prospects and opportunities are maximised and that income targets are met. The post holder will be building a strong prospect pipeline, preparing high quality funding applications and reports, as well as developing long term relationships with local and national stakeholders.
Key Tasks
• Work with the Head of Development to develop and deliver the trust and statutory fundraising strategy (capital and revenue) and maintain a dynamic case for support
• Research, prepare and submit effective, high quality funding applications, to meet income targets
• Work with colleagues across the wider team to develop compelling funding proposals
• Lead on report writing ensuring that requirements of funders are met, coordinating input from colleagues and ensuring deadlines are met
• Build and maintain a strong trusts and statutory prospect pipeline
• Manage and develop relationships with new and existing supporters to ensure long-term relationships
• Build a network of trust and statutory contacts, including attending relevant external events
• Support the design and delivery of cultivation events
• Keep up to date with trust and statutory fundraising trends, policy changes and sector wide developments
• Support the preparation of monthly management information for Board Committees, Directors and Senior managers as required
• Deputise for the Head of Development at internal and external meetings, including attendance and active contribution to the Leadership Group, contributing to the development and delivery of the overall RA vision and strategy

Relationships
• Cultivate internal relationships that cross team boundaries and demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with all team members
• Maintain and build partnerships with the directorate, senior managers and museum partners

Reporting Structure
This post reports to the Head of Development.
Hours
This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week, Mon-Fri. Occasional weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will be required. The role can be office based or flexible as set out below.
RA Flexible Futures
Wherever practicable, RA employment seeks to offer a highly flexible approach adapting patterns of work closely around what works well for the individual, as well as taking full account of business need. The Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Manager role could be made available via a flexible on-site/remote working model, with attendance on RA premises (offices are available at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, the Tower of London and Fort Nelson in Hampshire) for meetings as and when required. Making full use of digital meeting systems, the possibility of an application around a remote location is an option, as long as attendance at business meetings can be facilitated by the post holder, as required.
