Job Description |

It's conserving a magnificent history that will be enjoyed by future generations.
It’s being trusted to deliver. And it’s the satisfaction of caring for an irreplaceable collection. This is what makes a career with the Royal Household so different.
Joining our team of talented conservation and restoration specialists, you’ll provide high quality conservation-restoration services to gilded furniture and objects to the highest standard.
The collection of furniture across our locations is truly diverse, with many unique and historically significant items. What’s more, it’s a working collection with many items in regular use.
Based at our workshops in Windsor, but also working across sites with items in situ, the rich diversity of conservation needs will stretch you.
Key responsibilities:
• You’ll undertake in-depth remedial conversation treatments to gilded furniture and objects as identified by conditions surveys.
• With multiple concurrent conservation projects within your portfolio, you’ll prioritise your time to meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.
• Drawing on your expertise, you’ll evaluate the condition of items, recommending treatment proposals and working with colleagues to agree approaches.
• Working as part of a team, you’ll help maintain and upkeep specialist tools and equipment, undertake risk assessments, monitor health and safety compliance, and ensure the workshop is kept in good working order.
• With a passion for conservation, you’ll keep up to date with best practice and be keen to share your knowledge and skills with colleagues. |
