About Us
The Royal Air Force Museum is as a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity.
We have two public sites in the Midlands and London and a stored collection at Stafford. Our purpose is to share the RAF story - past, present and future - using the stories of its people and our collections to engage, inform and inspire.
Our vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story - the people who shape it and its place in our lives.
Our museum commitments are the golden thread that run through everything that we do. These are:
• Health and Wellbeing
• Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
• Sustainability
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Registrar to support the Museum's Collections Development programme. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in collections management within a museum or heritage environment.
Working as part of the Registrar's team, the Assistant Registrar will play an important role in the effective management, documentation, care and accessibility of the Museum's collections. The post holder will support the delivery of the Museum's inward and outward loans programme, undertake collections auditing activities, and assist with collections management projects, including the ongoing relocation and organisation of the Museum's collection stores.
In support of the Museum's strategic objectives and Accreditation commitments, the successful candidate will help ensure collections are managed, documented and developed for public benefit while promoting wider access and engagement.
The post will be based at our London site. Travelling between the Museums' three sites will be necessary when required. |
