Job Description |

The Museum’s mission is to tell the story of Our Army and the people who have served in it; to inspire, engage and educate, though our World Class Museum and Collections. Through our galleries and innovative exhibitions and public programme, the public can explore what it’s like to be a soldier, why we fought in conflicts – past and present, and discover the impact the Army has had on our society.
This year the Museum is hosting summer placements and we welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
Summer Placement: Social Media Support (Chelsea History Festival)
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Chelsea History Festival team to deliver and support social media in the run up and during the Chelsea History Festival.
The Chelsea History Festival launched in September 2019, a joint endeavour between the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Chelsea and The Chelsea Physic Garden. The festival is a celebration of history in the heart of London. A vibrant and engaging atmosphere a with a mix of talks from leading historians and authors combined with performances, activities and living history brings history to life.
The ideal candidate(s) will have experience of, and a passion for using social platforms to create engaging and exciting content to drive engagement, be a great team player and have excellent communication skills. An interest in history and an enthusiasm to convey this through content is a must!
This is a real chance to get creative and help shape and grow the channels to support this year’s exciting programme. The role would involve:
• Maintaining and developing digital presence across social media platforms, creating content, copywriting and scheduling content.
• Monitoring social media accounts, responding to enquiries.
• Content creation e.g. video/phot editing, basic graphic design using Canva.
• Edit and publish the Festivals e-newsletter, both to engage audiences and drive tickets sales.

The timings and duration of all placements can be flexible to suit applicants study/term times and are paid at the National Minimum Wage. Full induction and training will be provided.
