  Job Description
Durham County Council’s Culture Service is seeking a new member for our senior team. Unified by a strong sense of place, our cultural programmes have authentic roots from brass bands, and our industrial past, to our strong religious and political history, and breath-taking landscapes. Our service looks after key cultural programmes, and venues including theatres, museums, libraries and archives as well as festivals and events including Lumiere, Brass and Durham Book Festival. Our goal is to improve cultural access and through creativity develop empowered communities with growing civic pride and greater wellbeing.

To help us achieve this we’re seeking an experienced Audience Development & Engagement Manager who will develop our capacity to understand, reach and grow audiences. You will lead on the development and implementation of integrated plans to grow audiences and participation across culture, libraries and heritage to achieve both economic and community objectives.

You’ll be customer-centric and an excellent communicator able to build and maintain partnerships with key internal and external partners, organisations, customers and stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who will challenge, innovate and revolutionise our approach to audience development and who will bring fresh thinking and creative business approaches to help us achieve our goals.
