We are looking for an experienced and creative Museum Manager to lead the Royal College of Pharmacy’s Accredited Museum on a maternity cover basis. We are seeking someone who shares our passion for the history of pharmacy and medicine and who can engage the public and our members with the fascinating work of the RPS past and present.

You will be responsible for the strategic development of the museum and for maintaining our Accredited status. You will also need to be organised and able to manage multiple tasks. Confident at making decisions relevant to your role, you will be used to finding solutions to resolve challenging situations.
Requirements:
To work to the Care and Conservation Policy to ensure that standards of collection care, documentation and access meet at least the minimum requirements of Museum Accreditation.
To promote the collection as an educational resource to Society members and to the general public via a range of services including onsite exhibitions, web based information resources, loans and enquiry service.
To review the museum’s Acquisition and Disposals Policy, Access and Learning Policy and any other policy documents on a regular basis and obtain sign-off through the appropriate governance mechanism.
To develop and support volunteers and work experience placements and to support colleagues where required. |
