  Job Description
It’s documenting a collection for future generations

It's feeling proud of the part you play. It's the joy of caring for one of the world's great collections. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so different. In quality and diversity, the collection of works of art in Royal Collection Trust's care is breath-taking.

As part of our Collections Management team, you’ll help document this extraordinary collection, ensuring the Collections Management database has every item recorded accurately.

Collaborating with a range of teams within Royal Collection Trust and the Royal Household, you’ll assist with custodial control across Windsor: inventory and condition checking, cross-referencing historic inventories and updating locations and conservation information on the Collections Management System. You'll also support keeping the Salvage priorities folders up to date.

Working with a range of teams around Windsor Castle, you'll collaborate and provide support to conservators and contractors during the annual property works and collections care programmes.
  Required Skills / Qualifications
With relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience in a museum or collection environment, and a broad interest in the history of art, in particular Decorative Arts, British and Royal history, you're ready to make the next step in your career.

You’ll have a real passion for discovering the history and context of the Royal Collection and developing a career in Collections Management.

With great IT skills, accuracy and a real eye for detail, you’ll have experience of database systems.

Organised and self-managed, you're able to deliver projects either independently or with the team.

As an excellent communicator with influencing skills and a natural team player, you’ll enjoy working with colleagues across departments to achieve high standards, collaboratively solving problems and providing excellent service, even when it comes to repetitive tasks.

What's more, you'll understand the challenges of cataloguing an historic collection, and be eager to take advantage of the many learning opportunities that the collection presents.
