  Job Description
We are looking to appoint a Ticketing & Information Officer to the Welcome Team. This role will involve you meeting and greeting visitors to the Abbey. You will ensure our visitors receive a warm Abbey welcome at all times, whilst also issuing tickets, distributing media guides, selling add-ons such as tours and guide books, and handling cash/credit card transactions.

This is a frontline, customer-focused role that will require you to provide excellent customer service within a fast-paced, demanding setting, as well as taking responsibility for general ticketing/cashier duties.

The role is uniformed and will require you to abide by the Abbey’s uniform guidelines whilst on duty.

  Required Skills / Qualifications
The Visitor Experience team is devoted to promoting excellent, engaging visitor services as part of our welcome to worshippers and visitors to the Abbey. With over 1.5 million visitors and worshippers visiting the Abbey every year, the Visitor Experience team plays a crucial role in delivering first class frontline customer service. The department is the largest in the Abbey and is composed of the following teams:

Marshals – responsible for welcoming visitors and worshippers alike and ensuring the safety of those inside the Abbey
Welcome Team – responsible for welcoming visitors, processing tickets and managing our audio guide operation
Caretaking and Service Support Team – responsible for chairing the Abbey ready for services and keeping the Abbey and its precincts clean and tidy
Reception – responsible for answering all enquiries to the Chapter Office in Dean’s Yard through phone, email and in person
Abbey Guides – a voluntary role to assist with the daily operation of the Abbey by welcoming visitors and in some cases taking tours
