  Job Description
We're the only Museum of the Home in the world - revealing home as an emotional, psychological, socio-political and economic space - as well as the bricks and mortar.

Museum of the Home is a movement as much as a museum - seeing home as a lens through which many of the vital issues impacting the world can be viewed and solutions found.

Reopening in 2021, and with four years of increasing visitor numbers, we are seeking a communications professional to join the senior team and direct our Communications, Marketing and Digital functions.

We're currently honing a dynamic, partnership-focused new strategy to take us to 2031 and this role will play a key part in building on our reputation as a thought leader and growing and diversifying our audiences and reach.

We’re looking for someone who brings both strategic thinking and practical delivery skills across communications, digital engagement and marketing. The role involves leading on:

• Developing and delivering communications and marketing strategies
• Overseeing digital content and website development
• Managing media and partnership activity
• Using data and insight to grow and deepen our audience connections

It’s an opportunity to support a small, committed team and to contribute to the next stage of the Museum’s story.

If you’re an experienced communications leader, we’d love to hear from you.

A full job description can be found on our website.

Essential:
• Experience leading or managing a Communications and/or Marketing team for at least 2 years
• Experience with how to engage and grow diverse audiences through data and audience insights

• Strategic thinking
• Storytelling
• Budget management
• Team motivation and people management
• Planning and project management
• Evaluation
• Stakeholder management, internal and external

Desirable:
• Experience with content marketing
• Awareness of environmental issues, particularly as relates to the home
• Commercially aware
• Knowledge of the museums sector
  Application Instructions
Apply via our website https://museumofthehome.org.uk/about-us/work-with-us/

Closing date for applications is Monday 24 November. We aim to shortlist and let candidates know by 28 November.

Interviews will be held in person at the Museum on Wednesday 10 December. You will need to prepare a presentation/task ahead of interview, and will form part of your interview discussion. If there is need for a second interview, we'll let you know.

Whilst we are searching for a full time post, we will carefully consider part time, 28 hours/4 days per week.
