Job Summary
Amgueddfa Cymru - Museum Wales seeks a new Head of Botany to lead an experienced curatorial team driving forward innovative research and public engagement programmes. This strategic leadership role offers the opportunity to shape how Wales' national museum addresses global biodiversity and environmental challenges through world-class collections and cutting-edge research.

You will lead a team of curators and researchers, securing funding from bodies such as UKRI and the Royal Society while ensuring our Botany collections remain relevant and accessible. As Project Lead on high-impact research projects, you'll champion interdisciplinary collaboration across sciences, arts, and humanities, directly supporting our Strategy 2030 vision.

Key responsibilities include collection development, managing research budgets, publishing academic outputs, and fostering partnerships with higher education institutions. We seek a PhD (or equivalent) qualified botanist with proven experience in museum collections management, team leadership, and successful grant applications.

Join us in mobilising scientific knowledge to engage audiences with environmental challenges while advancing Wales' position as a leader in biodiversity research and conservation.
