  Job Description
We're the only Museum of the Home in the world - revealing home as an emotional, psychological, socio-political and economic space - as well as the bricks and mortar.

Museum of the Home is a movement as much as a museum - seeing home as a lens through which many of the vital issues impacting the world can be viewed and solutions found.

We are looking for a self motivated and experienced individual to take up the key role of Operations Manager at the Museum, with responsibility for the delivery of effective operational services to ensure the museum site is clean, safe, maintained, secure and compliant.

The main tasks will be:

• Managing contracts with a range of maintenance, cleaning and security contractors
• Leading on emergency response and incident management
• Working on capital developments and leading strategic maintenance
  Required Skills / Qualifications
You’ll have experience managing contracts and providing both reactive and proactive facility management in a museum or heritage environment.

You will be able to show you can:

• Negotiate and manage a range of contracts for provision of services
• Manage health and safety in a busy museum environment
• Keep policies and procedures up to date
• Manage budgets
• Be a great team player
  Application Instructions
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 26 October 2026. Interviews will take place at the Museum on Friday 6 November. As part of the interview, candidates will be asked to deliver a 5-minute presentation around the theme of managing a project; further details will be given beforehand.

Some evening and weekend working will be required for this role. All offers are subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check.
