  Job Description
If you are an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, we invite you to join Westminster Abbey’s Visitor Experience team. Working with us as an Abbey Marshal, you will be helping to provide a warm and friendly welcome to worshippers and visitors to the Abbey.

You will have a positive and flexible approach, and be able to show evidence of a commitment to delivering great customer service and of anticipating and responding to customer needs. You should also be able to work effectively under pressure and to take and follow instructions.
  Required Skills / Qualifications
We’re looking for a friendly, confident individual with a strong commitment to excellent customer service.

You will have:

• Customer service training or equivalent experience
• A genuine interest in historic buildings and heritage
• Strong verbal communication skills
• The ability to engage positively with a wide and diverse range of visitors
• Experience working in a museum, heritage site, or large visitor attraction (desirable)

You will be able to:

• Deliver a welcoming, high‑quality visitor experience
• Respond to visitor enquiries and work both independently and as part of a team
• Remain calm and act decisively in busy or challenging situations, including managing visitor flow
• Identify and respond appropriately to unusual or potentially unsafe situations

This role requires:

• Flexibility to work indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
• The ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Availability to work weekends, early mornings, evenings, and public holidays
